Birthing Matters Doula Services
service area: 30 minutes from Watertown, MA
I am a doula and midwifery student. I was drawn to midwifery by the same philosophy that drew me towards doula work- supporting families through their reproductive choices and providing continuous support through pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. I believe that families should have the option to choose whatever level of support feels right for their family; for that reason, I offer a variety of services from antenatal support for pregnant people on bedrest, prenatal emotional, physical, and informational support for families navigating their birth preferences, labor support, and postpartum care. I also offer private and small group childbirth education classes that focus on preparing our whole selves for the birth of our babies- mind, body, and spirit (sounds cheesy but it’s not).
The philosophy that guides my work is that the decisions we make for ourselves and our families are influenced by so many factors- our culture, our personal histories, our own bodies, and our personal beliefs, among others- and that my role is to support families in the decisions that are right for them. I am honored to be a part of so many stories.
